McRae Recreation Center Construction - In Progress
McRae Recreation Center is closed June 15 – October 31 for ADA updates, new flooring and all-gender bathrooms. Click below to learn more and subscribe for project updates. Outdoor programming and the fields, pickleball court, playgrounds and pool will all be open this season.

CenterPoint Gas Line Replacement - In Progress
CenterPoint Energy is replacing natural gas lines in the Bryant, Regina, Field, Northrop, and Page Neighborhoods. Gas mains in North Northrop, along Columbus Ave from 41st to 48th and for Town Oaks Townhomes in Regina will be replaced in Summer and Fall 2024 with more to come.

42nd St. Safety Improvements - Planning
The City of Mpls is making pedestrian and bike safety improvements along this High Injury corridor at the intersections of 42nd at Stevens, 3rd, 4th, 10th, 15th and Bloomington. Join the in-person Open House on Tuesday, September 17 at 6 p.m. or take the online survey linked below.

Hiawatha Golf Course Links - Planning
Hiawatha Links continues the vision created in the Hiawatha Golf Course Plan by fleshing out designs in greater detail and conducting more detailed community engagement. It will look at how all the pieces fit together while respecting the site’s history, ecology, and regulatory guidelines.

Parents in Community Action (PICA) Head Start - In Progress
PICA Head Start at 4225 3rd Avenue South is constructing new classrooms, offices, training rooms, an elevator for ADA access and enclosure of the center courtyard to create a two story activity area.

Cedar/Nokomis/Edgewater Traffic Calming - In Progress

50th St. from Lyndale to 4th - DONE
The City of Mpls completed street resurfacing from Nicollet to 4th Aves. in May and from Nicollet to Lyndale Aves. in July.
CenterPoint contractor Michels Corporation replaced the gas main and moved meters outside and the City of Mpls added new ADA pedestrian ramps in 2023.

42nd St. Resurfacing from 16th to Cedar - DONE
The City of Mpls resurfaced 42nd Street from Bloomington Avenue to Cedar Avenue and added new ADA pedestrian ramps in 2024.

42nd & Cedar Intersection Improvements - DONE
Hennepin County restriped the intersection to restore some of the lost parking spaces while preserving the new bike and pedestrian improvements. Image from a KSTP story from 2023 in response to business concerns.

Cedar Ave. & Minnehaha Pkwy. Pedestrian Improvements - DONE
The City of Minneapolis improved traffic safety at Cedar and Minnehaha with curb extensions (also known as curb bump-outs), Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS), and ADA pedestrian ramps.

Sewer Lining Project: E 49th St. and Park Ave - DONE
A City contractor relined the sewer using a Cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining, which is a trenchless rehabilitation method so the contractor will access the sewer through manholes in the street and not have to break ground to complete this repair.

4th Ave. Resurfacing from 38th to 46th - DONE
The City removed and added a new layer of asphalt on 4th Ave. S. between 38th St. E. and 46th St. E. in June 2023. All corners were updated to have ADA compliant pedestrian ramps.

Park Ave Resurfacing from 46th to Minnehaha Pkwy - DONE
The City removed and added a new layer of asphalt on Park Ave S between 46th St E this spring. All corners were updated to have ADA compliant pedestrian ramps and lanes were restriped.

12th Ave/14th Ave & Minnehaha Pkwy Pedestrian Restriping - DONE
